When reading Fellowship, I was struck by how tragic a fate it would be to be cursed by the Barrow Wights, condemned forever to dwell in one of the haunted howes. I always thought that was quite unfair, for an innocent person to be forced to remain upon the earth against their will. Of course, the Dead Men of Dunharrow and the Nazgul, as well as other tortured souls, had equally unhappy fates. As for that elf wight (if wight indeed he is, and not some phantom of overtaxed imaginations ), he is a naughty fellow indeed.... ;D

Elves are arrogant, haughty things, so convinced of their superiority that speaking with them is a waste.

Elfhild, the question remains - if he is an elf indeed, just how naughty a fellow is he? What is it - foresight, some strange precognition of the past and future - that implies to me that whatever he is, he is going to make the best of his present state. Clever fellows, those elves. ;D

No 'Los Orcs De Mordor RIFA' or 'EL13' ?
It seemed so...proper... compared to the work of our local artistes.

Actually, I have seen silly movie-inspired fanart of Sauron portrayed as a giant cyclops clad in black robes, with no nose or mouth, only one giant eye that dwarfed his body. Memories of this image, as well as the orcs' desecration of the statue of the old king at the Crossroads, were the inspiration for that little doodle of Sauron. ;D

I was thinking of the handiwork of our local 'champions' , whose favorite media include block walls and spraypaint.
I once had some players find 'Los Orcs de Corona Rifa' scrawled on a wall; since they had no idea what it meant they were suitably frightened.
My favorite ghastly Sauron art makes him into a variant of the Bic pen guy.

Ahhh, yes, the art I saw looked just like the Bic guy, only the Eye was more cat-like.
I looked up "Los Orcs de Corona Rifa" on Babelfish, and it says, "The Orcs of Crown Raffle..." Is this an accurate translation?

Corona (Crown Town in gang vernacular) is a town in Southern California that, for many years, had the distinction of being North Tiajuana. It's since expanded into Orange County Lite.
We lived in Norco, its northern neighbor, a town which is famous as being Horse City--everything is catered to the horse. All the stores have hitching posts, the streets are all lined with trails, the crosswalks have signal change buttons mounted at rider height, and pretty much every house has a horse in the yard.
It's Rohan for the modern world. I miss it, but I don't miss the smog--it's got some of the worst air pollution in the country.
"Los ---- de Corona Rifa" was a popular missive scrawled across buildings & walls. It means "The --- of Corona Rule". It's slangy Mexican as opposed to true Castilian Spanish. "Rifamas" or "mos" (gangbangers are illiterate, whoulda thunk) means "over all" or simply "rules all".
