Nice chapter - Crossing the Great Road, very visual. It is easy to imagine the settings- the sound of water in the tunnel under the road, the tramp of orcs feet above. And it is very enjoyable to have a look at the contents of an orc's pack.  |

Agan, all it took was a few kind words and the Rohirric princess was mine. ;D The last chapter of the third book went up today with an account of the morbid Eight's visit. Skri hasn't been around since the first book, but look for him in the future when a serious blunder of his (revealed in Book Five) will play a HUGE role in the story. *laughs fiendishly* |

I believe that it was more like several stout draughts of opium-laced wine and a spell of amnesia... ;D By the way, we are not going to put Book Four on OSA, since this book contains some homoerotic content. Even though "slash" is only between canon characters, OSA's rules ban all homoerotic content, even that between original characters. We just can't edit out major plot points of our story because of the rules. (OK, now everyone is going to wonder who's gay. ;D Well, it is DEFINITELY not Skri or the boys.  ) |

Yes, we can say that Book Four marks the shift to an expanded focus. Things will get grittier, more brutal, and the gothic elements will be more evident. Be warned now that this is not your average fanfic.

Elfhild - yes, I definitely remember something about amnesia...and a spell or two. ;D But it did work to everyone's satisfaction. We all know that Skri prefers corpses. ;D |

Because do you know how horribly difficult it is to find good fanfic without it? :[ Never been big on slashing canon characters anyway. So where will you all post up the chapters that are naughty? Or the stuff that is classified as naughty? Even the written sex has been pretty tame compared to what I've read before. lol I think previous chapters have pretty much confirmed that one. *laughs* Also, Congrats on completing Book III! Can't wait to see what the continuing adventures hold for all the participants. I'm still wondering what on earth is going to happen to our twins on the run. Will the wandering patrol happen upon them? Will the man on the flying vulture intercept instead?  |

Have no fears, Nazgulglomper. We don't tamper with Tolkien's characters' sexual perferences, and the only blatantly homosexual characters are those born of our own imagination. ;D We do not write "slash," because, in its true definition, "slash" ONLY refers to originally heterosexual canon characters who are written as being homosexual to suit the fancy of the author. We try to make things as realistic as possible, and it would not be realistic to portray everyone in Middle-earth as heterosexual. So it's just like real life; original characters come in all shapes, sizes, colors, and sexual preferences.
We will continue to post the story on our own site. Older books will be added chapter-by-chapter to other archives (Henneth Annun and LOTRFF), but our site will be the only one that has up-to-date chapters.
Hmmmm.... what WILL happen to the twins in a land teaming with enemies? ;D

WHen Elfhild and I began "The Circles" as a segment in the RP "Second Darkness," I thought we might have perhaps two stories and that would be the end of it. I never thought it possible that we would ever write three books. It was the furthest thing from my mind. But the project just kept growing and growing, and now we have three books online and at least five books in edit. Encouragement from readers has meant a lot to us and gives us that zest to keep on going. Thank you all again. |
