OK. I managed to miss this, which says a lot about me. I already mentioned the use of 'parodied' when what was meant was 'persueded'.
Poor Sang-Mi. A spooky mistress, a little baby--that's a lot for a girl who isn't much older than the twins. She's 16 and the twins are, what, 14-15? At most?

Khazar, it took me along time before I could tell which twin was which. Still I keep getting their names messed up. Occasionally I will write something about one of them and Elfhild will ask me, "Which one did you mean? Elfhild or Elffled?"
"The younger one." ;D
The age of the twins is not revealed, but I always thought of them as 13. Elfhild gets flustered at this, and emphatically maintains that they are 14. They started out as 20 in Second Darkness, then went to 16, and then it was downhill from there. ;D

I keep thinking of them as being 15-16. As for Sang-Mi... she is perceptive, isn't she? Way more so than the master physician. ;D

I keep thinking of them as being 15-16. Well, however old they are, they soon turn a year older, as their birthday is in June. In rereading that chapter, I sort of wondered about that, too. Perhaps Sang-mi has some psychic tendencies? Or maybe, as Khazar suggests, she, unlike Tushratta, is not bewitched by the lady's appearance. ;D

Moreover she is a young mother, and, as I heard, those develop some sort of sixth sense: of the kind that makes you don't hear your alarm-clock and miss the plane that later crushes...

Agan, that is interesting about new mothers. I had never heard that.
I think I have read that in Tolkien's universe even common people can have visions without having the gift of ESP, because the world is still young. I just can't remember if this was in some of the posthumously published material, or if I read an article that came to this conclusion.

I think something like that might develop in certain new moms. Not everyone gets maternal instinct or protectiveness with a first kid (some don't even with more sadly).
So when is Tushratta going to get off his duff already and start exploring the more spiritual means of ejecting that spirit. Not like he has Esarhaddon breathing down his neck at the moment or telling him such explorations is foolish. Poor Goldwyn. Her mind and her body is probably going through a fight with this entity that it's going to drain her in the end. And the battle to exorcise it from her will probably be quite hard on her.
By the way, how many of the boys are out and about right now, temping maidens and playing tricks on children? Or is that just one?

Tushratta has a few surprises waiting for him, none of which he will find any too pleasant. ;D Those were two separate Nazgûl. One was Skri, the morbid one. ;D
